
A home invasion that happened in Hulmeville Borough is under investigation.
Police said the incident happened Thursday around 2 p.m. in the 800 block of Walnut Street.

“A resident reported that two men came to her door and claimed they were from PGW Gas Works and needed access to the home. The men reportedly forced their way into the home and stole jewelry from a bedroom. Both men then left the scene in a white pick-up truck,” police said.
Hulmeville Borough police and the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
PGW is the utility that provides gas service in Philadelphia, while PECO provides that service in the suburbs.

Anyone with information on the home invasion or video from surveillance systems that could help has been asked to contact the Hulmeville Borough Police Department at 215-757-1700 or police@hulmeville-pa.gov.
“Residents are asked to be cautious when answering the door and to verify the identity of anyone who claims they need access to the home. That verification can be made by contacting the company the person(s) are claiming to be from. If you are unsure of a person’s identity, residents are asked to call 9-1-1,” police said.
