“Everyone here has been wonderful,” Morris told Bristol Township Council Thursday evening. “I’m just blessed for this wonderful opportunity and I look forward to growing Bristol Township parks.”

Morris thanked parks and recreation staffers Jai’er Brown and Dana Coleman for welcoming him and assisting in the transition.

Over the past several years, the parks and recreation department has grown programing, undertaken a review of parks and equipment, and opened Bristol Township Municipal Park next to the township building.

Jessica Fox, the last parks and recreation director, left Bristol Township to lead the parks department in Warminster Township recently.

Fox was the first full-time parks and recreation director for the township when she was hired in 2017.

Prior to Fox, Sherri Champey led the township’s recreation efforts for years, but she moved away. Her departure led to the council hiring a full-time director and expanding programming.

Morris said he has years of experience in parks and recreation, leading sports camps and a day camp in Philadelphia.

Morris’ dad is William “Speedy” Morris a famed high school and La Salle University basketball coach.
