PennDOT officials said lane closures will take place in both directions on I-95 and I-295 between the Bristol Exit and Penndel/Levittown Exit in Bristol Township and Middletown Township. The closures will take place Wednesday through Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

The work is for “high-priority repairs” on bridges that cross the highway. The work will include replacing rocker bearings, frozen sliding plate bearings and deck expansion joints; cleaning and painting steel beams; repairing substructure concrete; and reconstructing bearing pedestals, according to PennDOT.

State transportation officials asked drivers to give extra time when traveling through the work area.

All the work is weather dependent.

The work is being performed this summer through spring 2024 on 13 bridges in Philadelphia,ย Bucksย and Delawareย counties as part of a $39.4 million contract with Driscoll Construction Company Inc., of Philadelphia. The project is being paid for with federal funds.
