Over the past few days, residents have noticed increased police activity through Middletown Township’s Parkland section.

Readers have reported to LevittownNow.com that they have seen officers with long guns searching the rail lines, wooded areas, and streets in the section of the township. One incident on Thursday involved a number of township officers and detectives and Pennsylvania State Police troopers searching.
Middletown Township police Detective Lt. Steve Forman said the activity is connected to the search for a wanted man.
“There’s no risk to the community from him, but he just doesn’t want to get picked up,” Forman said.

There have been sightings of the man, whose identity police weren’t releasing on Friday, but police haven’t turned him up. He might not even be in the area any longer, Forman said.
The man is wanted for failing to meet with a probation officer and as part of an ongoing investigation, authorities said.

The police show of force is a precaution as detectives look for the man, Forman explained.
At one point, the man shot a pellet gun at a police drone during the search, Forman said.
Forman said more information on the wanted person could be released in the coming days.
