Democratic State Sen. Steve Santarsiero, of Lower Makefield Township, will square off against Republican Matthew McCullough, of Newtown Township, in the general election. Both men were unopposed in their parties’ primary.
The men are competing for the 10th State Senate District, which stretches from Upper Bucks County to Lower Bucks County, including all of Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Falls Township, and Tullyown Borough.
Santarsiero is a former state representative who has strong liberal credentials and is planning to become the next head of the county Democratic party.

Santarsiero, a former teacher and attorney, has a wife and three kids.
McCullough is a businessman who has training in nursing. He frames himself as a Republican looking to grow the economy and protect the Second Amendment.
