Two men who are familiar with local politics are running for the 142nd Legislative District.

Joe Hogan, a Republican from Middletown Township’s Langhorne section, and Mark Moffa, a Democrat from Penndel Borough, are running to fill the seat left vacant by longtime GOP State Rep. Frank Farry, who is running for state senate. Both men were unopposed in their parties’ primary.
The redistricted 142nd Legislative District covers all of Langhorne Borough, Langhorne Manor Borough, Lower Southampton Township, and Penndel Borough and part of Middletown and Northampton townships.
Hogan grew up in Levittown and graduated from Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. Hogan worked for the late Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick in Bucks County and in Washington D.C. He recently worked as the program director for the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County and is currently going to school for his law degree from Temple University.

Moffa moved to Bucks County nearly 20 years ago and works as a publisher for a small media company. He previously worked as an award-winning newspaper reporter and editor. He helped found a new chapter of the Lions Club.
Moffa, a former Penndel Borough Council member, previously ran for mayor of his hometown, but he lost last year.
