3,200 Left Without Power Due To Snapped Utility Pole

Around 3,200 PECO customers were left without power Saturday morning.

The outage was blamed on a snapped utility pole outside the Avalon Court Apartments on Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section.

Firefighters were called to the area around 6:45 p.m. for downed wires.

It was not immediately clear what caused the pole to snap. However, there was rain and strong winds at the time.

Neighbors said several power lines were downed or hanging low over Bristol-Oxford Valley Road.

Bristol-Oxford Valley Road was closed in the area due to the downed wires.
