The Middletown Community Foundation of Bucks County will hold their annual fundraising race in May.
The Middletown Community Foundation’s Fifth Annual Woof-A-Palooza race is set for Sunday, May 8, 2022 and there’s still plenty of time to register. Funds raised through the volunteer-run nonprofit organization’s race will benefit the Middletown Township Police Department’s K-9 unit’s effort to purchase and outfit a new K-9 officer and related training and supplies for the department’s dogs.
After a virtual race in 2021, Woof-A-Palooza Race will feature a 5-mile course, 5K course, a two-mile Fun Walk, and a kids’ obstacle course. Walkers are encouraged to bring their leashed dogs to participate in the event. The race will start at Forsythia Crossing Park and use the 5 Mile route previously used by Run The Gates.
The Middletown Township Police Department K-9 unit will showcase the skills of the K-9 officers and their handlers.
Previous races have raised funds for the township to purchase, train, and outfit four police dogs.
Middletown Community Foundation Race Committee Chair Diane Loomis encouraged racers and walkers to get friends, family, and co-workers to join them this year.
“We’re excited to welcome racers back for an in-person race and walk,” Loomis said. “Plus, we’re able to help”
Woof-A-Palooza is sponsored by Inspire Federal Credit Union
