COVID-19 Hospitalization Rate Remains Low In Bucks County

The rate of new COVID-19 cases remained steady and the key metric of hospitalizations continued shrinking over the past week.

According to state data, there were 252 new COVID-19 infections reported in the county last week. It is notable that the number of new infections is likely an under count as many at-home positive tests aren’t recorded in the official data.

Bucks County’s COVID-19 test positivity rate was steady at 2.5 percent. A test positivity rate higher than 5 percent means health experts consider the spread of COVID-19 uncontrolled.

As of Tuesday, there were 12 patients in Bucks County hospitals with COVID-19, a drop from 26 last week. Of Tuesday’s number, one was in intensive care and one was on a ventilator.

The number of deaths of COVID-19 patients in Bucks County was four last week.

Through Tuesday, there were 91,390 Bucks Countians who were partially vaccinated and 390,700 people had received two doses. A total of 173,019 third doses have been administered in the county, according to state data.

A total of 76.7 percent of Bucks Countians have received at least one dose the COVID-19 vaccines, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.
