A popular restaurant and bar in Bristol Township will be expanding in two phases.

Dog and Bull Brew and Music House on Route 13 near the intersection with Newportville Road in the township’s Croydon section gained approval for the two-phase project earlier this month from Bristol Township Council.

The building will add a second story to expand its kitchen on part of the facility and a new indoor seating area with a tower to anchor the building.

Representatives for the business said the kitchen, which is located closer to the train station, will be expanded with the second-floor addition. On the opposite side of the business, the temporary outdoor seating area will be converted into the new indoor seating area with the tower as a focal point.

“It’s a better appearance and a better presentation,” the attorney for Dog and Bull Brew and Music House told officials. “We’re looking to make it better.”

The attorney said COVID-19 measures from the township allowed for an expanded temporary outdoor seating area. As the business has thrived, it is looking to make the temporary seating area part of the building envelop.

The addition of the new seating area will also allow for a dedicated catering spot.

The attorney said existing parking should be acceptable because the business is converting temporary seating into permanent seating.

Dog and Bull Brew and Music House opened in its current location about a decade ago. After several years, it overtook the barbershop that sat next door and upgraded the exterior of the building.

Bristol Township Council President Craig Bowen said the restaurant and bar is a big draw in the township and wished them luck.
