By Friday evening, the first wave of snowfall from a massive nor’easter was falling over the Levittown area.
The National Weather Service’s local office was calling for 6 to 12 inches of snow across Lower Bucks County between Friday night and Saturday night.

“Heavy snow is anticipated at least as far inland as the I-95 Corridor with amounts generally 5 to 10 inches,” forecasters said.
Forecasters warned that there will be a sharp cutoff in snowfall totals across the region.
The snow will last through late in the day Saturday.

With the storm, strong winds are expected with gusts Saturday. Gusts in the 30 mph range are predicted, forecasters said.
Blowing snow could be a problem through the weekend.

“Dangerously low wind chill values on Saturday night and Sunday morning” are expected, forecasters said.
A Winter Storm Warning was in effect for the area through Saturday evening.
PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike have put some restrictions in place for certain types of large and commercial vehicles during the storm.

Several Levittown-area towns issued snow emergencies as the storm approached.
Crews from municipalities and the state salted and brined area roads. Plows crews were prepared to clear roadways of measurable snowfall.

PennDOT asked motorists to allow plenty of space when driving near plow trucks and to not pass them.
The White House said they were prepared to respond with federal agencies to the storm as it pounds the East Coast.
