A driver was badly injured in a Tuesday morning head-on crash in Middetown Township.
The crash happened around 8:45 a.m. on Brownsville Road just past Butterworth Lane in the Langhorne section of the township.

A Pontiac car smashed head-on into a large dump truck. The car caught fire after the collision on the two-lane road.
Officer Andrew Herman said the driver of the car was freed and transported by the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The driver of the dump truck was not hurt.
It appeared the Pontiac drifted into the lane the dump truck was traveling on.

Police Captain Pete Fenney said the first arriving officers used fire extinguishers to hold down the flames from the burning engine compartment. Arriving crews from the Middletown Department of Fire and Emergency Management then doused the flames.
“They stopped him from burning,” Feeney said.
As of 10 a.m., Brownsville Road was closed in the area of the crash.

Langhorne Manor Borough police and Bucks County Rangers assisted Middletown Township authorities at the scene.
