The closed Burger King in Penndel Borough will become a Boston Market.

According to a borough official and marketing materials, the empty eatery will become a prototype in 2022 for Boston Market, which is owned by Newtown Township-based Rohan Group of Companies.

A commercial real estate listing noted there will be “significant tenant investment in site” along West Lincoln Highway.

Penndel Borough Council President Beverly Wolfe said there have been no land development plans submitted to the borough, but it was her understanding Boston Market will be coming to the site.

Fast-casual chain Boston Market has downsized in recent years, but currently operates about 350 stores across 28 states and Puerto Rico.

Bucks County resident Jignesh “Jay” Pandya, a real estate investor and restaurant operator, owns the Rohan Group of Companies that runs Boston Market through Engage Brands.

Pandya previously operated a number of Pizza Huts in the Philadelphia region. The locations closed suddenly in 2019. The location in Falls Township was slated to become a chicken eatery, but it reopened as Pizza Hut in early 2021 under new management.
