A woman who has been key in keeping many Bucks Countians in their homes will serve executive director of the nonprofit Credit Counseling Center.
Paula Powers-Watts will take the executive director position of the organization that has helped more than 100,000 locals steady their finances over the past quarter century.

Powers-Watts has led the Credit Counseling Center‘s foreclosure prevention efforts over the years. She has worked with the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Foreclosure Diversion Program that was facilitated by the Bucks County Bar Association.
Powers-Watts will work with Joan Reading, the founder and president of the Credit Counseling Center, which has offices in Doylestown Township, Northampton Township, and Tullytown Borough.
“Paula has been on the forefront of providing support to hundreds of families in Bucks County to avoid foreclosure and stay in their homes,” said Reading. “CCC has thrived because of Paula’s leadership and expertise in financial counseling, as well as the collaborative relationships she’s established in the community, between homeowners, mortgage lenders, attorneys and other resources.”

Powers-Watts said the Credit Counseling Center will focus on many different initiatives.
“In addition to our foreclosure prevention and debt management programs, CCC will focus on initiatives vital to proactive financial well-being, including financial workshop webinars for the workplace, budgeting sessions, and retirement and student loan counseling,” she said.
