Montgomery County, Philly Natives Begin Work As Bristol Twp. Officers

Two new Bristol Township police officers were sworn in at a public ceremony last week.

Officers Jennifer Jacker and Eric McEwen, who both started on the streets in winter, took part in the public ceremony during the Bristol Township Council meeting. While the two were officially sworn in as officers earlier this year, their public events were delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Jacker, a native Upper Moreland in Montgomery County, graduated from Temple University in 2019 with eyes on working in law enforcement, Chief of Police Robert Coulton said.

McEwen joined Bristol Township police after working in the Philadelphia Police Department. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Temple University in 2014. The officer is married with a son and lives in Warminster Township.

District Judge Kevin Wagner performed the swearing in ceremony.

Officer John Rink, who retired in March, was presented a plaque for his 32 years of service to residents. He is now working as an officer for the Bristol Township School District.
