A man has been accused of swiping a pricey fire department radio.
Christopher B. Reese, 36, of Levittown, has been charged with burglary, theft, and receiving stolen property.

On Sunday around 5:44 p.m., Croydon Fire Company Chief Tom Tryon called 9-1-1 to report a person – later identified as Reese – was in the process of taking a portable radio, which was valued at $8,000. The chief yelled for Reese to stop and he did, using his bicycle to escape from the station. The chief followed Reese to the Cedar Avenue bridge where he and other fire company members stopped him while patrol officers responded, police said.
Officers said they arrived and confirmed Reese was not given permission to be inside the State Road fire station and was not to have a radio.
A bicycle matching the one used by Reese was reported stolen earlier in the day from the Wawa on New Falls Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section, police said.

Video from the fire company showed Reese taking the radio and then putting it back after the chief yelled for him to put it down, police said.
Reese was arraigned Sunday by on-call District Judge Corryn Kronnagel and jailed on 10 percent of $75,000.
