A lockdown at a Pennsbury School District elementary school was triggered by a report of a gun.

Falls Township police were dispatched Monday afternoon to the area of Leisure Lane near Walt Disney Elementary School for a domestic incident with a report of a gun involved. Upon sorting things out, it was determined there was no threat to the school, police Chief Nelson Whitney said.

Parents were advised in a letter from Superintendent Dr. Thomas Smith and Principal David Schwind that the lockdown happened around 3:30 p.m. It lasted only five minutes.

“Students were immediately returned to their classrooms, and the building was secured,” the letter read.

Smith and Schwind thanked Falls Township police and school staff for their quick actions.
