UPDATE: Man Stable After Being Stabbed

Bristol Borough police released more information Monday evening on the man stabbed earlier in the day.

Police said the 43-year-old man was stabbed in the upper back in the area of the Mavis Discount Tire. He was involved in a verbal altercation with a group when one person inflicted the wound. The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. in the area of the Route 13-fronted business.

Suffering from the stab wound, the man made his way to a local business, which had its staff call 9-1-1, police said.

The Bucks County Rescue Squad rushed the man to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia where he was taken into surgery, police said.

As of Monday evening, the man was listed in stable condition, police said.

No arrests were made, and police said there were conflicting reports on the suspect.

The stabbing happening Monday in the area of the Mavis Tire Store off of Route 13 in Bristol Borough, but the crime was not connected to the business. The stabbing happened around 12:30 p.m., police Chief Steve Henry said.

No suspects were in custody as of 2 p.m., the chief said.

The victim was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia and was undergoing surgery, Henry said.
