The day before Harry S. Truman High School seniors began their first day of classes, many gathered to catch the sunrise.
Teacher Regina Mazzocchi said the students came together as one group Wednesday morning to catch the start of the day as part of what was called “Senior Sunrise.”

The event was coordinated by senior Selena Aponte, fellow students, administrators, and parents.
To prepare for the gathering, students, administrators, and parents began setting up as early as 5 a.m. to ready decorations, food, and a photo booth.
“For much of their high school career students havenโt spent much time together, as the Class of 2022.ย Kicking off the senior year, these Truman High School students sent a message that they will remain #TigerStrong throughout anything,” Mazzocchi said.
