A Bristol Borough woman has been charged after police allege her comments triggered a bomb scare.
On Saturday, May 15 around 11:30 a.m., borough police were called to the PNC Bank on Commerce Circle for a report of a bomb threat. PNC Bank staff said a woman who spoke with employees on the phone made comments about a bomb, according to court papers.

The comments led to the bank branch being cleared and a bomb-sniffing K-9 unit from Warrington Township responding. A search of the building was negative for explosives, police said.
The caller – Emily Louise Doyle, 34 – spoke with investigators at her home. She stated he made what police termed “inappropriate comments” on the phone with the bank because she was upset he account was not corrected following a business transaction, authorities said.
Doyle wrote a statement admitting to making the comments, but she stated she never would hurt anyone, police said.

Doyle was charged via summons this month with false alarm to an agency of public safety, terroristic threats, and false reports.
