Newportville Road will remain closed for a while longer.
The section of roadway is closed between Dixon Avenue and Maple Avenue in Bristol Township’s Croydon section. The road has been blocked since July 12 when flash flooding wiped out a portion of roadway and the bank along the Neshaminy Creek.

PennDOT officials said the closure will remain in place for the time being.
“They are currently assessing the situation and reviewing best plans to take. Once that is complete, Bucks County Maintenance will let us know the next plan of action and by then we will know how long work will take and when we expect to reopen the roadway,” said PennDOT spokesperson Robyn Briggs.
Due to the closure, drivers are asked to use Route 13, Veterans Highway (Route 413), and Ford Road to get around the closed area.
