A Bucks County corrections officer has been arrested.
Anthony Louis Miller, 28, of Quakertown, was arrested by the Bucks County Detectives’ Drug Strike Force this week on charges he smuggled suboxone strips into the Doylestown Township facility that houses hundreds of inmates.

A confidential informant told county detectives last September that a corrections officer was smuggling Suboxone, a medication used to treat people dependent of opioids, into the facility for an inmate in exchange for money, according to court papers.
This month, detectives learned Miller agreed to pick up 100 Suboxone strips and deliver them to an inmate for $5,000, which would be distributed in two $2,500 payments. He also agreed to take part in similar deals in the future, according to court papers.
Detectives said they moved in and arrested Miller Tuesday, and he was found with the 88 Suboxone strips given to him and $2,500 cash. The strips were allegedly found in a pocket on Miller’s work duty belt.

Miller told detectives he had picked up Suboxone and delivered it starting in February 2020. He admitted to conducting deliveries to an inmate in May and June, too, authorities said.
“This defendant has committed an extraordinary breach of public trust, because our prison guards are supposed to keep drugs out of the jail they’re guarding, rather than purchasing drugs to bring into it,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said in a statement. “This is a great example of our county Drug Strike Force working hard to protect the institutional safety of Bucks County’s prison.”

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said Pennsylvania State Police and investigators from the Plumstead Township, Bristol Township, Quakertown Borough, Warrington Township, and Doylestown Township police departments assisted the county detectives.
Miller was arraigned late Tuesday night on charges of controlled substance contraband to confined persons, criminal attempt to controlled substance contraband to confined persons, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, and criminal use of a communication facility. He was being held as of Thursday at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $150,000 cash bail.
