After a portion of the dirt and gavel footing on the rail line that runs through Bristol Borough washed out Monday during the intense rain storm, crews were out and had repaired the damage by Tuesday morning.

The damage occurred along Garden Street near the SEPTA station.

The rail line, which is part of Amtrak’s vital Northeast Regional, carries passenger and freight trains. The line is most often busy with SEPTA and Amtrak trains.

Monday’s storm brought a devastating 6 to 10 inches of rain over the course of only a few hours.
