In an effort to better serve readers, local news organization LevittownNow.com is expanding its service offering low-cost and widely-seen obituaries.
The expanded service offers obituary publication with up to 500 words and a photo for $50. Death notices with a photo cost $25. For a small fee, our team can create an obituary for your family.
Our mission is simple: provide a platform for the community to publish and read obituaries and death notices while charging reasonable and fair prices. A recent survey found that 88 percent of respondents plan to place an obituary if a loved one dies to share their story with friends, family, and the community.
“Our expanded obituary service is unmatched in terms of length and price. Our goal is to help families share these important stories while not charging our grieving neighbors an outrageous amount,” news organization Publisher Tom Sofield said.
A national survey from 2019 found a single obituary can cost a bereaved family between $318 and $486, with add-ons raising the price even more. Newspapers and online companies that publish obituaries have increased rates over the years, which has made it harder for the average family to share their loved one’s story.
A survey from 2020 found that LevittownNow.com reaches 82 percent of all adults living within its coverage area. Social media monitoring service Crowdtangle shows LevittownNow.com has the highest reach of any news organization in Bucks County.
LevittownNow.com’s hyperlocal coverage focuses on Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Falls Township, Hulmeville Borough, Langhorne Borough, Langhorne Manor Borough, Penndel, Middletown Township, and Tullytown Borough. However, our readership in the surrounding communities and the county seat of Doylestown is very strong.
