Bristol Township has join neighboring municipalities in allowing police to check registration books at hotels and motels.
Earlier this month, Bristol Township Council approved the ordinance change that is designed to crack down on problems at places of rest.

The ordinance update will require the township’s hotels and motels to keep a hotel registration book that could be turned over to municipal police for review upon request.
State police are authorized already to review hotel guest lists, but troopers are often too busy to stop in the township’s hotels and motels, Township Manager Randee Elton said.
Township officials said the registration will help match occupants to rooms.

Falls Township and Bensalem Township have similar ordinances in place.
Also in June, Bristol Township Council updated their solicitor ordinance to bring it up to date with current case law.
