The advancement of Bristol was further evidenced on Monday by the advent of a new passenger and freight boat line between here and Philadelphia.

The Ray Freight Line, a new company, made their initial trip when the trim steamer “Prospect” came up to Bristol, leaving Philadelphia at 1 o’clock, reaching Burlington 1:40, and Bristol at 2 o’clock. The boat was in the care of Captain Arthur Edwards, with John King, as first mate, Furman Danser, engineer, and Perey Owens, as purser.
Trips will be made daily, except Sunday. The bout is fully equipped with life boats, rafts, and life preservers. The regular landing place in Bristol will he at the foot of Market Street with its freight house and office, but during the rebuilding of Market Street wharf, the boat will land at foot of Mill Street.
When completed the Market street wharf will be an attractive landing place, as Mr. Doron, lessee of the wharf will not only build a concrete bulkhead, but will remove engine house from the wharf and demolish the ruins of the old lumber shed and machine shop, which were burned several years ago. When the improvements are completed, the old wharf will be one of the most attractive landing places along the riverfront.
