Students from Conwell-Egan Catholic High School recently donated 85 bags of clothing to the Network of Victim Assistance’s (NOVA) thrift shop.
The mid-May clothing drive at the Bristol Township Catholic high school was coordinated by students Courtney Anderson, Jacqueline Swope, and Jordan Zadnik , who are involved in the Bucks County-based Danaher Lynch Family Foundation that supports students in catholic schools. The foundation asked the students to choose a service project and they picked working with NOVA to support the Children’s Advocacy Center, which allows for a safe environment for children and adults to interact during child abuse investigations.

“We decided support NOVA because it is exactly what we were looking for – a nonprofit organization that helps [abuse] victims,” said Courtney. “We know that one clothing drive will not end all abuse, but if our donations can help one person, that is all that matters to us.”
The support from the school community was so great that a pickup truck and a mini-van were needed to deliver the donations to NOVA.
The nonprofit was appreciative of the donations.

“We are extremely grateful to the students and faculty of Conwell Egan High School for their dedication to the clothing drive and their support of NOVA’s mission,” said Angela McGettigan, director of communications and community relations at NOVA. “Every sale generated at the NOVA Thrift Store directs much needed funds in support of NOVA’s counseling, advocacy, training and education programs.”
