A man has been charged with stealing a boat and trailer from a Bristol Borough home in spring.
John E. Foster III, 60, of Falls Township’s Morrisville section, was charged via summons recently with theft and receiving stolen property.

The 15-feet brown Glass Stream boat with a 75 horsepower outboard engine and trailer was stolen from a yard on Corson Street on April 27.
A surveillance video that showed the vehicle believed to be involved in the theft. Images from the footage were released to police and published by local news outlets.
Shortly after the images appeared online, the boat and trailer were returned to the Bristol Borough neighborhood where they disappeared from. Police said there was damage to the boat and it appeared it was being prepared to be scrapped.

Tips led Falls Township police to the vehicle that was captured in security camera video and Bristol Borough police were advised.

“The owner of the vehicle was identified and subsequently questioned regarding the incident,” which led to Foster being charged, police said.
