A crash on West Maple Avenue at rush hour last month was caused by a man eating candy, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
In a statement released this week, troopers said a 33-year-old Doylestown man will be cited for causing the crash that happened on Thursday, May 20 around 5:54 p.m. in the 200 block of West Maple Avenue near the intersection with Green Street in Langhorne Borough.

The Doylestown man driving a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan was eating a Twizzler and wasn’t watching the roadway when he struck a 2015 Chevrolet Express van that was parked legally on the southbound shoulder, state police said.
The van was pushed about 100 feet from where the collision happened, state police said.
The Doylestown driver was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt.
