Bucks County continued to see the number of new COVID-19 infections drop last week.
The county had 797 cases last week, a roughly 30 percent drop over the prior week and a 60 percent decline since early April, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The COVID-19 test positivity rate for Bucks County for last week fell from 7.3 percent to 6.5 percent. A rate of 5 percent or more is considered concerning by health officials.
Last week, the deaths of 12 Bucks Countians due to COVID-19 were reported, according to state data.
April had 70 deaths of Bucks Countians from COVID-19.

Hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients in the county dropped from about 95 at the start of the week to 80 by the end of the week. Hospitalizations spiked at the start of the year and again in mid-April.
As vaccinations expand and cases drop, Gov. Tom Wolf announced almost all mitigation measures will be removed on Memorial Day. The only remaining mitigation measure, which requires masks to be worn when indoors or outdoors near others, will expire when the state vaccination rate hits 70 percent of eligible people.

Since the pandemic began, Bucks County has had 59,513 COVID-19 cases and 1,264 deaths.
