Solebury Township police released additional information Thursday evening on the search that led to the discovery of a former Morrisville Borough councilman’s remains.

Morrisville Borough police Chief George McClay said 55-year-old David Nay’s body was found Thursday afternoon not far from where his pickup truck was discovered the day before at Washington Crossing Historic Park.
Nay’s death was not considered suspicious.
Solebury Township police said there was an extensive search Wednesday after Nay’s truck was found. It included a search of the state park land, the Delaware Canal, and Delaware River.

Solebury Township officers, county park rangers, state park rangers, and state police continued the search Thursday.
Authorities said a crew from the Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and county rangers discovered the missing man’s remains around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The search involved marine and dive units from the Hopewell, New Jersey Fire Company, Lambertville, New Jersey Fire Company, New Hope Eagle Fire Company, Point Pleasant Fire Company, and Upper Makefield Fire Company.
The law enforcement search teams were assisted by Greater Philadelphia Search, Pennsylvania Wilderness Search And Rescue, and Rescue Southeast Pennsylvania Search and Rescue, Solebury Township police said.
Nay was last seen a week ago at his borough home. He was believed to be armed and dealing with a mental health crisis.

Nay served on borough council from 2018 to 2019.

A former Morrisville Borough councilman missing since last week has been found dead.
The body of David Nay, 55, was discovered Thursday afternoon in the area of Washington Crossing Historic Park in Solebury Township, Morrisville police Chief George McClay confirmed.

Nay’s death is not considered suspicious. His truck was found Wednesday nearby, McClay said.
Local police, state troopers, and state park rangers were searching the area on Thursday.
