Medical Helicopter Picks Up Patient In Levittown Neighborhood

A medical helicopter landed in a Levittown neighborhood Thursday morning.

The helicopter was requested by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad to fly a patient to a hospital in Philadelphia. Details on the patient’s injuries were not immediately known.

Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said his office’s fire engine and Levittown Fire Company No. 2 set up a landing zone at Policeman’s Park in the Indian Creek neighborhood off Emilie Road.

The helicopter landed shortly after 7:30 a.m. and then took off, according to a nearby resident who saw police, fire trucks, and medical crews at the park.

While it isn’t uncommon to see medical helicopters land at local hospitals, it is rare to see them land in local neighborhoods.
