A man who police allege was intoxicated drove past a police blockade and into an emergency scene late last Saturday night.

Just before midnight, police were blocking traffic on Route 13 north near Tyburn Road in Falls Township while firefighters were extinguishing a vehicle fire when a car sped into the closed-off scene at a “high rate of speed,” authorities said.

The driver – Mark Gregory Davis, 39, of Montgomery County – was stopped by an officer, police said.

Davis was found to be intoxicated and with marijuana, police said.

“This illustrates the danger of being out on roads,” police Chief Nelson Whitney said.
