COVID-19 Case Rates Slightly Tick Up

The number of new COVID-19 cases in Bucks County ticked up last week.

Bucks County had 1,977 new infections reported last week. The number was a 7 percent increase over the prior week, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The county’s test positivity rate dropped from 10.7 percent to 10.6 percent. A rate higher than 5 percent is considered concerning by health experts.

There were 20 COVID-19 deaths of Bucks Countians reported last week.

While hospitalizations are up over several weeks back, they have remained largely unchanged over the past two weeks. As of Saturday, there were 116 patients with COVID-19 in area hospitals. A total of 24 were in intensive care and 11 were on ventilators.

Since the pandemic began, there were 56,123 COVID-19 cases in the county and 1,212 deaths.
