A man was sent to county prison after a Sunday morning chase.
A Bristol Township police officer was on patrol Sunday around 4:17 a.m. when he spotted a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup truck making an illegal turn from Emilie Road onto Edgely Road. The officer quickly followed and activated on his car’s emergency lights and siren, according to court papers.

The Ford began to pull over and the driver waved his arm – a possible attempt to let the officer pass – on Edgely Road. At the intersection of Mill Creek and Edgely roads, the driver – identified as Michael Anthony Demuro, 30, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section – began to make a turn and stuck his head out the window, stating: “I’m not going to pull over here,’” police said.
The Ford continued down Mill Creek Road before turning onto Haines Road, police said.
Officers continued to attempt to stop Demuro as he drove through Levittown and Bristol. He violated numerous traffic laws and speeds ranged from 20 mph to 80 mph, police said.

LevittownNow.com readers said numerous police vehicles were involved in the chase.
Pennsylvania State Police troopers deployed stop sticks on northbound Route 13 at Green Lane at 4:48 a.m. Demuro’s Ford hit the stop sticks and drove on both rims on the vehicle’s right side for about 10 minutes, according to authorities.

At 4:55 a.m. as the pursuit was passing Haines Road, Demuro struck a Bristol Township officer’s patrol vehicle and then a state police vehicle. A trooper then conducted a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, causing the Ford to do a 180-degree turn before finally crashing into a patrol car, police said.
Demuro was physically removed from his vehicle and he resisted arrest just before 5 a.m. He was hit by two tasers, police said.
The Ford had a suspended registration and no insurance information could be turned up. Demuro had a suspended license, police said.

Demuro was suspected of being on drugs at the time of the chase, police said.
Demuro was charged with three counts of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. He was charged with single counts of DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, resisting arrest, driving while operating privileges suspended or revoked, failure to stop at a red signal, and related offenses. He was preliminary arraigned at 11:45 a.m. before District Judge Kevin Wagner and jailed on 10 percent of $500,000 bail.
