The Route 1 overhaul project will reduce the lanes of travel on the highway Thursday night into Friday.
There will be a lane restriction on the northbound and southbound lanes of Route 1 between the Neshaminy interchange in Bensalem Township to the Pine Street (Route 413) overpass in Middletown Township Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, according to PennDOT.

The lane closures will aid crews in clearing the highway shoulders in advance of excavation work to widen and reconstruct 1.5 miles of Route 1 from the Neshaminy interchange in Bensalem Township to just past the Route 1 bridges over the Neshaminy Creek and rail lines in Middletown Township.
Throughout the week, there have been periodic lane restrictions overnight due to the ongoing project.
The Route 1 overhaul is being carried out in three phases. The first phase in well underway in Bensalem Township and the second phase recently started in Bensalem Township and Middletown.
