A crumbling pedestrian bridge in Levittown is being replaced.
The Middletown Township Board of Supervisors voted Monday evening to award a contract for $48,039 to Contech Engineered Solutions for the new bridge that will connect the Forsythia Gate-Snowball Gate neighborhoods.

The new bridge is expected to come in about three months from April, Middletown Township Building and Zoning Director Pat Ennis said.
The township will work to demolish the existing bridge, which is in “structural failure,” and prepare the footings for the new bridge that crosses the Mill Creek.
The crumbling bridge has been closed since earlier in 2020.

Last year, Ennis said the new bridge is expected to be wider than the existing span and meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility regulations.
