PECO said in information provided to residents that more than $500,000 will be spent on the project.

“The majority of this work will occur on area sidewalks and some streets. Streets where work will occur are Apple Valley Drive, Lollard, Harwood and Ivy Courts, Abbey, Anita and Quaker Circles, and Paxson Lane. Additional work will occur on Kilburn, Bateman, Flint, Chancery, Edgerton, Croasdale, Big Oak, Newgate, Denbeigh, Peel, Gladstone, and Woodbourne roads,” the utility provider said.

PECO plans to install new equipment as part of the project, including pad-mount transformers.

Residents are being advised crews might need to “temporarily interrupt service” as part of the work. The company told residents they will be informed in advance of interruptions.

“We will also work closely with local officials to minimize the impact on traffic and pedestrians whenever possible. Access for services such as trash removal, student transportation and emergency vehicles will be maintained during construction,” PECO said.

PECO is currently working to replace utility poles along and adjacent to Maple Avenue in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough.

Over the past few years, Langhorne Borough and Middletown Township’s Langhorne section have had a number of power problems blamed on equipment in the area.
