A convenience store store is being planned for a shuttered bar in Bristol Township.
Bristol Township businessman Chaman Popli, who operates two Sunoco franchise gas station in the community, plans to convert the closed Stadium Bar and Grill at 501 Veterans Highway (Route 413) into the new business.

Popli told township officials that while the business has a kitchen, he will not be selling fresh food, but tobacco, sodas, pre-packaged foods, and lottery tickets.
While the building will be converted for use as a convenience store, it will not be expanded.
The Bristol Township Zoning Hearing Board voted earlier this month to grant a variance to allow the shop to operate under the current residential zoning designation. Despite being run as a business for years, the property is zoned residential.

The building was home to Skinny Dugan’s bar in the 1980s into the 2000s and then Dunlap’s Bar and Grille before becoming Stadium Bar and Grill, which closed within the past few years.
