The older woman who was taken to the burn center remained undergoing treatment as of late week, the source said.

The two people were burned after their home in the 4900 block of Beaver Dam Road in Bristol Township caught fire around 4 a.m. last Saturday.

Neighbors awoke the elderly residents by pounding on the doors and windows of the burning home, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito told reporters last weekend.

The burn victims were taken by the Temple MedFlight and PennStar medical helicopters to the Temple University Hospital burn center.

The fire marshal found the blaze started in the area of a space heater in the living room.

The home was found to have no smoke alarms.
