Bristol Township police said they were called to Old Orchard Lane around 11:42 p.m. Monday night for a report that James had shot a gun and punched a female family member in the face. The caller reported James was still in the home.

Officers found blood reportedly from the woman on the floor of the Old Orchard Lane home’s kitchen, police said.

An officer noticed James was attempting to climb out of a basement window. Three officers went to the basement and busted through a door. They found James on a wooden stool where he was arrested without incident, police said.

A black backpack on the stool was used by James. Inside, a firearm, James’ identification, unused baggies, a black scale, and suspected marijuana were found, police said.

The semiautomatic gun had its identification number scratched off and no serial number, police said.

James, according to court papers, had a prior felony charge and firearms-related arrest.

Police said was “evident” the woman had been struck in the face.

It was not noted in court papers whether officers were able to confirm a shot was fired, as stated in the initial 9-1-1 call.

James was arraigned by District Judge Jan Vislosky and jailed on 10 percent of $950,000 bail.
