UPDATED: Man Killed In Shooting Along Edgely Road

In a late Thursday morning statement, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said the driver of the Chrysler 200 was shot dead through the driver’s side window.

District attorney’s office spokesperson Manuel Gamiz Jr. said detectives from Bristol Township and the county continued to investigate the murder.

Bucks County detectives Frank Groome and David Coyne along with Bristol Township Detective Jason Callahan were seeking video at or near the scene and any information regarding the shooting. Those with information or video have been asked to call police at 267-812-3041 or county investigators at 215-348-6333. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via CrimeWatch.

Bristol Township and Bucks County detectives were working on Thursday morning to track down a killer.

The shooting scene was centered on Edgely Road between Marion and Custis avenues. The car ended up coming to rest in the middle of the roadway with one man inside suffering a fatal injury to the head just past 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, according to law enforcement sources.

Police and the district attorney’s office said they expect to release more information later.

The shooting rocked the quiet section of Edgely Road. Neighbors said they heard loud noises shortly before officers flooded the scene, but they couldn’t be sure they were gunshots.

Joe Lepley, who lives a few doors down from the site of the shooting, said he saw officers rush to the area. An officer told him a person in the car was dead.

The upset family of the deceased man arrived at the scene around 9 p.m. and talked with investigators, said Lepley and a source.

Detectives fanned out along the roadway seeking clues that could help their investigation.

As of Thursday morning, no charges related to the case were filed in district courts.

Edgely Road was blocked in the area for hours Wednesday night as the scene was processed.
