The Bucks County Board of Elections voted Monday afternoon to certify the general election results.
During a minutes-long meeting, the Board of Elections certified the results in a unanimous vote.
The meeting was delayed several hours by an appeal to about 2,000 ballots filed by President Donald Trump’s campaign. The appeal was invalidated by a Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling just before the meeting started.
Bucks County reported 398,797 ballots cast for the general election. There are 487,986 registered voters within the county, meaning voter turnout reached 81.7 percent. Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the vote in the presidential election, Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick kept his seat, Democratic Attorney General Josh Shapiro beat back his challenger, and all three Levittown-area state representatives will remain in their positions, according to the results.
Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie, who heads the Board of Elections, commended the work of county election workers and the office’s legal team.
The heads of the county Democratic and Republican committees commended the county on their handling of the election last week.
State election law calls for counties to certify election results by the third Monday after voting.
