A woman avoided life-threatening injuries when she crashed into a tree Thursday evening.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. along Bristol-Oxford Valley Road near Forsythia Drive South in Middletown Township’s Levittown section.

Police Captain Pete Feeney said the woman’s SUV crossed the centerline after driving south on Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and drifted onto the grass before striking a tree.
Drugs may have played a role in the crash, but police are still investigating, Feeney said.
Firefighters had to extricate the woman from her vehicle before she was taken to the hospital.

Feeney said the woman was injured, but she will survive.
