The Pennsbury School District is starting their search for a new superintendent.
At the school board meeting last Thursday, approval was given for the school district to green light a proposal from the Bucks County Intermediate Unit to allow them to serve as the consultant as the roughly 10,000-student school system prepares to search for a new leader. The proposal offers the service to the district at no cost, aside from related professional fees like advertising.

Superintendent Dr. William Gretzula made the surprise announcement last month that he planned to retire by the end of the school year. He cited that he had been dealing with non-life-threatening “personal medical issues since January.”
Gretzula, who is in his 50s, also announced he plans to retire as a superintendent in the state. It was unclear why he would not seek a superintendent job elsewhere in the state. His contract with Pennsbury expires in 2023.
In other business, the school board approved seeking proposals for several positions, including auditor, solicitor, special education counsel, and health care consultant.

The school board additionally voted to dispose of an aging 2003 Ford Crown Victoria security car and accepted the donation of a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria and two 2016 Ford Explorers from Falls Township.
