The Neshaminy School District reported its third COVID-19 case this month.
Maple Point Middle School in Middletown Township Principal Andy Sokol wrote in a note to parents on Saturday that a student received word Friday evening that they had COVID-19.

“The virus was most likely contracted outside of the school environment. The student was asymptomatic but did attend school last week Monday through Thursday,” the principal wrote.
The student was recently in the school but did not take a bus.
While Neshaminy has started classes virtually, there have been in-person orientation days for students.

The Bucks County Department of Health has begun contact tracing after the district turned over lists of close contacts and classroom seating charts, Sokol said.
This month, a student tested positive for COVID-19 after attended orientation at Maple Point Middle School and a staff member Pearl Buck Elementary School tested positive.

Neshaminy is eying a hybrid return to classes at school in early October.
