
Police across Bucks County will be stepping up intoxicated driving patrols over the Labor Day weekend.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said municipal police departments will be out and about to keep the roads safe.

The Pennsylvania State Police also plan an enforcement effort over the long weekend.
According to PennDOT data, there were 2,995 crashes resulting in 46 fatalities statewide over the 2019 holiday weekend. Among the deaths, 19 were connected to alcohol and three were related to drugs.
โItโs going to be a beautiful holiday weekend,โ District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. โHave fun, but be responsible. Please donโt drink or do drugs and drive.โ

โWherever you travel this holiday weekend, please slow down and buckle up,โ said Colonel Robert Evanchick, commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police. โTravelers will notice a visible state police presence on the roads, with troopers taking a zero-tolerance approach toward impaired, aggressive, and distracted driving; as well as speeding.โ
