County Reports COVID-19 Cases Remain At ‘Relatively Low Level’

The Bucks County Health Department said Thursday that COVID-19 cases have “continued to stabilize at a relatively low level.”

The county reported receiving 77 new COVID-19 positive case results between Tuesday and Thursday. A total of seven reports were so delayed they were no longer considered active.

The county averaged 26 cases per day with delayed reports included and about 23 cases per day if delayed cases were excluded.

Health officials said 17 cases were reported on Tuesday, 34 of Wednesday, and 26 on Thursday.

Among the 77 cases, 36 people were sickened through household contacts, 18 through community spread, five were infected out of state, five were residents or employees of long-term care centers, three were infected at other workplaces, and 10 people were unable to complete a full interview with contact tracers.

A 48-year-old Bucks County woman who was hospitalized outside of the area with COVID-19 since late May died. The death marks the third this month and continues with a much lower death rate than the one seen in spring, health officials said.

A total of 10 Bucks Countians were in local hospital with COVID-19 and two were in critical condition on ventilators as of Thursday evening.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 7,079 residents with COVID-19 positive results, 518 deaths, and 6,264 recoveries.
