Bristol Twp. Council Honors Staff, Volunteers Who Worked During Pandemic Shutdown


At their meeting last week, Bristol Township Council honored a number of people who helped during the COVID-19 shutdown.

The Council approved a resolution honoring the Bristol Township School District administrators, cafeteria workers, lunch monitors, teachers, custodial staff, and bus drivers for working to distribute meals to school students.

Council Vice President Cindy Murphy noted that the district’s staff cleaned the buildings and dished out thousands of meals for students, including enough to last kids over the spring break.

The Bristol Township Senior Center board, staff, and volunteers were recognized for their work delivering Meals on Wheels to older residents and implementing the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm to Families food box pickups during the COVID-19 closures.

Murphy pointed out that 600-plus meals on average have been distributed by the Bristol Township Senior Center.

The Bristol Township Parks and Recreation Department was recognized by the Council for their creativity and implementation of Rec from Home program during the pandemic. More than 250 craft and activity kits were made by the department.

Bristol Township Emergency Management Coordinator Kevin Dippolito, who also serves as fire marshal, was honored for his work during the COVID-19 shutdown. Dippolito was praised for his work keeping up with the latest information and coordinating response efforts between different levels of government, local fire companies and rescue squads, and township leaders during the pandemic shutdown.

Bristol Township Fire Police, which is a volunteer group tied to local fire companies, were commended for their work providing traffic control at the Fresh Connect food distribution events during the COVID-19 shutdown at Bucks County Community College’s Gene and Marlene Epstein Campus.
