Falls Township is looking to improve the hockey rink at their largest park.
If the township gets it’s wish, the improvements at Falls Township Community Park will largely be covered by a grant from the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program from the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

During their Monday evening meeting, the Board of Supervisors authorized submitting the application for the grant that will cover $138,988.60 of the total $163,516 project. The remaining cost would be picked up by the township.
“We were going to budget and spend the money,” Supervisors Chairman Jeff Dence said. “It’s a pretty good deal since we were just going to (pay for) the whole thing.”
The project will resurface the rink, seal cracks, replace the dasher board, restore the fencing, paint, and mark the surface.

Township Parks and Recreation Director Brian Andrews explained work would take place in two parks and resurfacing is expected to be done this year.
